The goal of this page is to accumulate the resources to help guide us towards taking concrete steps to make academia and psychology significantly more representative of non-white, non-male voices. Don’t worry too much about sharing resources that might overlap with other ones - everything is valuable, even if it repeats something else.

An extremely thorough and excellent (and evolving) resource for concrete steps faculty, students, and administrators can take.
The Department of Psychology’s Equity Committee has also compiled and updating a list. There are lots of repeats between what they are suggesting and some of what we have here, but also lots of unique things that we shared on this page that they did not. But consider looking through their list and finding if something jumps out at you, as well.

As part of the #shutdownstem movement, there was an online workshop on June 10th 2020 that allowed various members of academia to talk about the various micro- and macro-aggressions they experience, and concrete steps that academics can take to combat discrimination in academia. About a 60 minute video + large google doc.
An cognitive science specific organization whose goal is to create mentorship and networking opportunities for psychologists of color.
They provide job postings, have a database of scholars, and mentorship opportunities. They are also attempting to organize conferences.

A group of black feminist counselling psychologists whose goal is to both educate on systematic racism experienced by black Americans and also to develop concrete plans for addressing inequity in academia broadly construed.

A initiative that is closely aligned with BLM that aims to demonstrate how academia and STEM help sustain racist systems of oppression, including through disruptive shutdown days (last one on June 10th, 2020).

Rachel Cargle hosts a wonderful lecture series and has a collection of resources to educate on topics of racism and feminism.
